All of PristineHydro’s Water Revival Systems produce 100% acid and contaminate free pristine water that has a high magnesium bicarbonate content, with traces of calcium and sodium bicarbonate, as well as silica and chloride. This results in an ideal, low TDS of around 60 PPM.
We use 100 gallon per day rated high volume reverse osmosis membranes that has a waste to recovery rate of one to one, which means that for every one gallon of water that is made, one gallon goes down the drain. Most reverse osmosis systems have a waste to recovery rate of five to one, which means that for every gallon made five go down the drain.
Each PristineHydro™ Water Revival System comes with a TDS meter. If the TDS is under 100 and water production is fine you do not have to change any filters. When water production decreases and/or the TDS increases, it is time to change filters.
Many people however like to change filters pro-actively in order to maintain high system performance, rather than waiting for degradation. In that case, we suggest changing the 5 Micron, KDF/Hydroxy Apatite/Carbon, every 12 months and the DIs every 24 months, depending on usage and the TDS of the source water. The RO Membrane, Remineralization Cartridge, and the Coconut Carbon should be changed every three years, again, it depends on usage and the TDS of the source water.
All of our PristineHydro™ Revival Systems have a Reverse Osmosis (RO) Flush Valve, which dramatically extends the life of the RO membrane. Once a month (depending on usage, more often if you are making a lot of water) open the Flush Valve for 2-3 minutes while the unit is making water. When you open the flush valve you should hear a flushing sound, this flushes out the RO membrane.
All PristineHydro™ Water Revival Units require a minimum 40 lbs of water pressure for proper performance. If your water pressure is low we sell booster pumps – call the office.
